With a 2000 strong team and more than 100 years’ experience behind us, Magnet is one of the UK’s biggest and best known kitchen brands. Whether we’re designing a new kitchen, or designing a bespoke service for our customers, we always aim for better. It’s just what we do.
Our journey began in 1918 when Tom Duxbury started a joinery business in Bingley with one single ambition. To offer better products and services to his customers. We’ve come a long way since then, and we’ll never forget our Yorkshire roots. But we’re still living up to that ambition, and as a team we’ll always strive to create, innovate and inspire better living through purposeful design.
We also want to be better when it comes to sustainability, too. We believe we only have one chance to get this right, so we’ve pledged to reduce our CO2 emissions from manufacturing and transport by 72% by 2026. And we’re also collaborating with our suppliers to help them reduce their carbon footprints. This is something we all expect from brands today. But we think it’s something we should also expect from our workplace.
It’s all part of what makes Magnet - and the careers we offer - Better. By design.
Here’s our story…
- 1918: Tom Duxbury founded Magnet in Bingley, West Yorkshire.
- 1970s: Our first full kitchens are introduced. Magnet becomes Britain’s biggest manufacturer of kitchen joinery products.
- 1985: We enter the retail kitchens market and open our first public showroom.
- 2000: Magnet becomes the first national kitchen retailer to be awarded the government-endorsed TrustMark accreditation.
- 2001: We become part of Nobia, Europe’s largest kitchen group. And launch the Simply range of Ready to Assemble kitchens.
- Today: Our Magnet rebrand. Focusing on inspiring better living through purposeful design.
If you think you have the right mix of talent and experience to help us be better and do better, join us and you could design a better career.
At Magnet Projects, we supply the highest quality kitchens to both the public and private sectors. And because we’re part of Magnet, the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of kitchens and joinery, our commitment to quality, value and service is second to none.
Working closely with Magnet’s national network of Trade stores, our team of regional sales managers, sales managers, project design managers, estimators, central support staff (and more) focuses on delivering quality just as much as we focus on delivering kitchens.
With a best in class dedication to customer care, we make sure that each client or contractor we partner with can speak to a project design manager (PDM) as their first port of call for all aspects of the project - and it’s the same PDM who’ll carry out in house surveys, too.
What’s more, we’re able to work with clients to identify preferred locations to act as efficient hub stores and distribution points, and we’re flexible enough to support clients with both planned works and voids projects in all four corners of the UK.
It’s challenging, it’s fast moving, and it’s much more exciting than you think. But what it also means is that our commitment to quality when it comes to careers is second to none, too.
