At Nobia UK we believe it’s important to provide alternative opportunities for young people to get into employment, and Rixonway have been leading the way, working closely with schools and colleges to recruit young talent for our brilliant apprenticeship scheme since 2010.
In the past 5 years, Rixonway have employed 15 apprentices and right now we have 9 more working across the business, with plans for a further 4 during 2016.
What’s more, Rixonway is a Yorkshire and Humber Apprenticeship Ambassador for the National Apprenticeship Service and is one of the leading apprenticeship providers in the region. That means they take training and career development very seriously, for both apprentices and for the wider workforce.
In fact, all apprentices are assigned a mentor when they start, and our training partners also assign someone to each apprentice, too. The idea is to ensure that every apprentice has the opportunity to complete and assign work associated with their qualification, and that they are receiving all the support they need to get the most out of their role.
Rixonway also work hard to give apprentices the opportunity to do work that interests them, and provide a number of roles from traditional trade positions through to customer services, accounting, engineering and more.
And by offering more than the national minimum apprenticeship wage, together with opportunities to move into permanent positions within our company, the Rixonway apprentice opportunities are pretty special.
The rest of the business has plans to extend it's apprenticeship offer, so keep a close eye on upcoming developments.
